Tulsa Golfers in Second Place at Kansas Men's Invitational

Lawrence, Kansas - The Tulsa men's golf team carded a combined 11-under par 565 score after two rounds at the Kansas Men's Invitational on Monday. The Hurricane begin Tuesday's final round in second place, just three strokes behind host Kansas. The Jayhawks finished Monday's two rounds with scores of 286 and 277 for a 563 total.
Rounding out the top-10 teams includes Western Kentucky (570), Houston (571), UC Davis (572), UL-Monroe (573), Oklahoma City, Oral Roberts and Northern Illinois (583) and Illinois State and Missouri State (86).
Tulsa juniors Ryan Henry and Brett Myers paced the Hurricane on Monday. Henry fired a seven-under par 137 total for second place, while Myers sits in fourth place with a four-under par 140 score. Henry and Myers each shot an opening round 71, while in the second round Henry fired a six-under par 66, while Myers had a three-under score of 69.
Henry sits two strokes behind the individual leader, Gary Woodland of Kansas, as he shot rounds of 69 and 66 for a 135 total.
Tulsa juniors Mitch Cohlmia and Sam Korbe are tied for 21st place with scores of 144, after turning in identical rounds of 70 and 74. Freshman Nicolas Geyger shot rounds of 72 and 76 in his first collegiate tournament for a 150 total. He is in a tie for 50th place.
Senior Tyler Carson, playing as an individual, shot a score of 151 for 66th place in a field of 93 golfers.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
