Henshaw Finishes in Top-20 at Pre-Nationals

Terre Haute, Ind. - The University of Tulsa's Edwin Henshaw clocked a 24:05.2 over 8,000m to finish 19th overall at the Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind.
Henshaw bettered his personal best in the 8K by 40 seconds en route to logging TU's fastest race this season.
Brett Turowski also improved on his personal best in the 8K, turning in a 24:31.9 to finish 56th out of 243 runners.
Alex Becker paced the Golden Hurricane women with a 21:07.7 in the 6K run to finish 45th out of 253 runners. Becker turned in her best performance in the 6K, besting her old mark of 22:57.3 by nearly two minutes.
Rounding out the men's side was Kyle Dekker (25:37.2) in 195th, Mark Davidson (25:39.1) in 198th, Eric Harris (25:48.7) in 210th, Jay Matlack (25:58.4) in 221st and Joel Stansloski (26:27.0) in 234th.
Rounding out the women's side was Lise Olivier (22:10.6) in 148th, Dawn Nagazina (22:20.1) in 165th, Heather Stroeder (22:39.0) in 195th, Lana Kelley (22:55.0) in 213th, Marissa Saunders (23:01.0) in 221st and Tayler Rigsby (23:42.7) in 240th.
The men's squad picked up a 28th place team finish out of 35 schools, while the women finished 29th out of 35 schools.
TU cross country will next be in action on October 28 when it travels to Greenville, N. C., for the Conference USA Cross Country Championships.
