Tulsa Men Nab Runner-up, Women Finish Fourth

Greenville, N. C. - The University of Tulsa's men's cross country team had five runners finish in the top-15 on its way to a runner-up finish at the 2006 Conference USA Cross Country Championships in Greenville, N. C., hosted by East Carolina.
Tulsa's women also posted a strong outing, placing three runners on the all-conference teams, including two on the first team, en route to a fourth place finish.
The TU men were led by Edwin Henshaw who ran a 24:44.22 to earn a third place finish, followed closely by Brett Turowski who crossed in fifth place with a time of 25:00.61. Both Henshaw and Turowski earned first team all-conference honors.
Joel Stansloski turned in a 25:44.34 to finish ninth and represent TU on the all-conference second team.
Eric Harris and Kyle Dekker crossed in 11th and 12th, respectively, earning them third team all-conference honors. Harris clocked a time of 25:54.52, while Dekker was nipping at his heels, crossing in a time of 26:02.24.
The women were led by Alex Becker who turned in a time of 17:45.95 in the 5K race to earn first team all-conference honors. Joining Becker on the first team was Lise Olivier who crossed in a time of 18:15.57 to finish fifth.
Dawn Nagazina, who earlier in the week was voted to Conference USA's All-Academic Cross Country team, ran an 18:39.52 to finish 15th and earn third team all-conference honors.
On the men's side UTEP took the men's championship, while UAB grabbed top spot on the women's side.
