"The kids did a great job defensively. They were very alert. Phenomenal defense to hold them to 17 in the first half. I'm just real proud of them for hearing what we ask them to do defensively. Of course offensively, we shot the ball well as a team, 46 percent. We shot the three well, Rod shot the three well. Shot 75 percent at the line and got 15 offensive rebounds. I'm real pleased heading into finals that we're 6-1."
On the crowd excitement...
"I'll tell you what, the student section has been pretty strong. They've got finals coming up. The football players were fantastic, I love the hardhats. I think our turnovers also, kind of led to not a whole lot of rhythm to the game. There wasn't a lot of flying dunks to the basket when we turned it over in certain situations when we had fastbreak opportunities. A lot of that is probably due to our turnovers. I would have liked to hold him down, but he's a great player, Trey Johnson. I think he's really good. I'm proud of our defensive effort."
