Golden Hurricane Dominates Cross-Town Rival ORU, 3-0

The University of Tulsa women's soccer team dominated cross-town rival Oral Roberts, 3-0, on Tuesday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the TU campus. The Golden Hurricane owns a 2-1 mark this season.TU sophomore Jennifer Kacergis punched in the Golden Hurricane's first goal on the night, and her second of the season, in the 16th minute. Kacergis beat a defender and knocked in the goal from six yards out from the left side. Just 46 seconds later, senior Katie Ward recorded her own goal from 18 yards out, to put TU up 2-0 over the Golden Eagles. Freshman Hannah Taylor put one into the net with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Junior goalkeeper Meredith Hart kept ORU scoreless as she came up with a huge save on a penalty kick. Hart had eight saves on the night, and has posted 120 saves in her career at TU. For her efforts, Hart was named Player of the Game for the Golden Hurricane.
Tulsa will host the TU Women's Soccer/Grover Classic on Friday, September 1st and Sunday, September 3rd at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane will take on TCU beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
