Tulsa Cross Country Squads Travel to Cowboy Jamboree

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Stillwater, Okla., on September 30 to compete in their third meet of the 2006 season, the Cowboy Jamboree.
The Cowboy Jamboree, now in its 70th year, will be held at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course.
The Jamboree is the longest running consecutive cross country meet of its kind and will host athletes from over 70 colleges and universities across the country.
The meet will be held Saturday morning with the college women running a 5k race at 8:05. The college men will follow with an 8k race at 8:30. The university women will run a 5k race at 9:10 and the university men will follow with an 8k race at 9:40.
Lise Olivier posted a time of 18:10.7 in the 5K run to finish 13th and help the TU women to an eighth place finish at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo., last time out
The Tulsa men were led by Jay Matlak who turned in a time of 26:40.0 in the 8K race to finish 35th and help TU to a 12th place finish overall.
The women had four top-100 finishers in the race that featured nearly 300 runners. In addition to Olivier's performance, Marissa Saunders(18:46.8) crossed in 33rd place, while Lana Kelley(19:03.3) posted a 43rd place finish and Sarah Graesser(19:50.3) finished 94th.
The men's team also featured four top-100 finishers in a race that featured nearly 300 runners. Following Matlak was Eric Harris(26:51.8) in 46th place, Mathew Musengezi (27:25.2) in 64th and Jordan Hughes(27:36.3) in 80th.
