Tulsa Women's Soccer Team Falls to UTEP, 2-1

El Paso, Texas - The University of Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to UTEP on Friday night at University Field in El Paso, Texas. The Golden Hurricane fell to 2-8-1 on the season and 0-1 in Conference USA, while the Miners moved to 7-4-1 on the year and 1-0 in the league.
Melissa Desilets tallied a goal for UTEP with just 10:01 ticked off the clock off, while Angie Kleinfelder knocked in a goal in the 43rd minute off a pass from Tameka Sumter to give the Miners a 2-0 lead at the break.
Tulsa's Hannah Taylor scored her first goal of the season and fourth of her career off a pass from Jennifer Kacergis early in the second period, but the Golden Hurricane couldn't overcome the two-goal deficit, falling 2-1.
The Miners out-shot TU, 19-12, including a 13-5 ratio in shots on goal. Tulsa goalkeeper Kendall Harclerode registered 11 saves in the contest for 66 this season.
The Golden Hurricane will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 7 against Colorado College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. (CST)
