Tulsa Women's Soccer Coach Rena Richardson Resigns

Rena Richardson served as head coach for four seasons (2004-07) and posted a 26-44-9 overall record, including a 3-14-2 mark this season.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's soccer head coach Rena Richardson announced her resignation today.

Richardson served as head coach for four seasons (2004-07) and posted a 26-44-9 overall record, including a 3-14-2 mark this season.

Richardson had the Golden Hurricane achieving great success in the classroom and community, having twice received the NSCAA/adidas Academic Team Award, and a total of 44 players received all-conference academic honors. The women's soccer team also claimed the TU Athletic Department's "Outstanding Team Community Service" award in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

"I want to spend time with my family," Richardson said. "My kids are growing up and I don't want to miss it. It was a hard decision, but I think it is best."
