Softball's Streak Ends at SFA

Nacogdoches, Texas - The University of Tulsa softball won a season best eight consecutive games to close out a 15-game homestand. On Thurday, the streak came to an end thanks to a 1-0 loss in eight innings at Stephen F. Austin. A crowd of 78 at Hoya Field witnessed the Lady'Jacks win their fifth consecutive game of the season.
Tulsa was led by freshman Ashlee Lubniewski with two doubles in three at-bats. Sophomore Brooke Smart, freshman Lauren Lindsay, senior Kelli McGlasson and freshman Vanessa Vice also contributed hits for the Golden Hurricane as TU stranded 10 base runners in the contest.
Freshman Jackie Lawrence pitched six scoreless innings for Tulsa, striking out six SFA batters and allowing only two hits. Sophomore Katie Lee was saddled with the loss, pitching the final inning and a third.
Tulsa returns to Conference USA play by traveling to Houston for a three-game series starting on Saturday at 1 p.m. After a doubleheader on Saturday, the two teams will square off again on Sunday in a single game at 1 p.m.
