Oklahoma State Outscores Hurricane, 13-4

Tulsa, Okla.- - The University of Tulsa softball team struck first with two runs in the opening inning. However Oklahoma State pounded out 13 hits, to come from behind to defeat Tulsa, 13-4 at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex, before a crowd of 327.
Freshman Emily Blackburn went 3-for-3 for the Cowgirls, scoring three runs with a double and a home run on the evening. OSU posted seven extra-base hits, including four doubles, a triple and two home runs in 13 total hits. Senior Angela Osbon recorded two singles to lead the Hurricane hitters. Junior Sara Dyer, sophomore Brooke Smart, senior Kelli McGlasson and freshman Ashlee Lubniewski also had singles for TU.
OSU also got a complete-game from freshman Anna Whiddon, who picked up her eighth win of the season. Sophomore Katie Lee took the loss, pitching the first three innings. Senior Julie Fennell pitched the final three stanzas for the Hurricane.
Tulsa returns to Conference USA action on Saturday, as the Hurricane host UCF in a three game series. Saturday's doubleheader is set to start at 1 p.m., with Sunday's series finale set for 1 p.m. as well.
