Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's softball team (17-18) suffered from four errors en route to a 7-1 loss at the hands of UCF (25-14) on Sunday afternoon.
The Hurricane picked up its lone run in the sixth inning when Christian Timmons plated Sara Dyer.
Jackie Lawrence suffered the loss after tossing 4.0 innings and giving up six runs, five earned. Julie Fennell closed the final 3.0 innings, allowing one run on two hits.
Offensively for TU, Dyer and Lindsey Tower each finished the game 2-for-3 while Timmons had an RBI and Dyer a run scored.
UCF put one run on the board in the first inning, and followed that with two in the second and three in the third to mount a 6-0 lead after three innings. The Knights added one last run in the seventh to set the final score of 7-1.
The win moves UCF to 4-5 in Conference USA play, while the Hurricane drops to 3-5 in conference.
Tulsa will be back in action on March 29 when it heads to Stillwater, Okla., to face Oklahoma State and Arkansas at the Border War.
