Tulsa Routs ORU in Conference Tourney Warm-Up

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's men's tennis team (16-6) wrapped up the regular season schedule with a 7-0 win over cross-town rival Oral Roberts on Tuesday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Hurricane had earlier in the day learned of its No. 1 seed in the Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship, which will be played at Rice.
TU made quick work of the Golden Eagles, taking only 2 hours and 10 minutes to complete the 7-0 sweep.
Tulsa swept the doubles point, with the team of Andy Connelly and Lucques Maasdorp downing Alex Dargel and Frank Kaehler 8-3 at the one position, followed by 8-2 wins by Ross Cunningham and Federico Soriano as well as Will Gray and Olof Sjolund.
In singles play, Soriano grabbed a 6-4, 6-1 win over Dargel at the top of the line up, with Gray picking up a 6-3, 6-2 win over Kaehler on court two.
On court three, Cunningham nabbed a 6-2, 6-2 win over Cuan Farquharson, while at the four position Connelly netted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Patrick Guilliod.
Maasdorp got the better of Clemons Geercken at the five position, 6-4, 6-0, while Sjolund cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win on court six over Peter Jefferies.
Tulsa's next action will be on April 20 at 11 a.m. when they face eighth-seeded East Carolina at 11 a.m. in Houston at the 2007 Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship hosted by Rice.
