Lawrence Earns C-USA Hitter of the Week

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's Jackie Lawrence (Indianpolis, Ind.) earned this week's Conference USA Softball Hitter of the Week after hitting an outstanding .933 (14-for-15) last week with a 1.267 slugging percentage. The freshman entered last week with only three hits on the season, but registered eight consecutive to begin the week. The streak is tied for fourth in NCAA history.
She led her team in hits, RBI, slugging percentage and on-base percentage as the Golden Hurricane went 5-0 last week with a series sweep of C-USA foe Memphis and a pair of wins over Central Arkansas. Lawrence added three doubles and a triple on the week, while registering at least two hits in all five contests. She led her team with 11 RBI, including four in the second UCA game.
The native of Indiana also pitched 3.2 innings and did not give up a run, while striking streak. This is the first career weekly honor for Lawrence.
