- Tulsa game captains were David Johnson, Charles Davis, Kenny D. Sims, Mike Bryan, Justin Morsey, Rod Thomas, Moton Hopkins and Terrel Nemons.
- Tulsa's honorary captains tonight were Paul Smith (2003-07) and Jean Barrett (1969-71).

- Damaris Johnson's 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was Tulsa's first since Roy Roberts returned a kickoff 92 yards against Tulane (Nov. 3, 2007). Johnson's return is tied for 13th longest in Tulsa history (4 for 100, 6 for 98, 2 for 96, 2 others for 94).
- This game marks the second time that Tulsa has scored two touchdowns from 90-yards or more in the same game. The first time this happened was in 1994 when Solomon White rushed a 93-yard touchdown and Jason Jacoby returned a kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown against UNLV (Oct. 15, 1994).
- Tulsa's 28 first quarter points is Tulsa's most single quarter points scored since scoring 29 points in the second quarter against SW Missouri State (Sept. 5, 1998).
- UTEP's 28 first quarter points is the most single quarter points scored by at Tulsa opponent since Texas A&M scored 28 points in the second quarter (Sept. 18, 1999).
