Tulsa, Oklahoma - Jennifer Kacergis and Hannah Taylor each scored a goal for Tulsa, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Hurricane fell, 4-2, to Memphis on Sunday afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane dropped to 6-8-3 on the season and 1-5-2 in Conference USA, while the Tigers moved to 10-4-1 overall and 6-2 in the league.

"Again, it was a tale of two halves," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "We out-shot them 10-9 in the second half and had five corner kicks, and at the 72:35 mark had the momentum, but they scored again and we couldn't find a way back. We are not getting played out of any games, we are right there, we just have to find a way to win."

Memphis scored two goals inside the first 12 minutes, as Kelsey Bakker headed in a goal at the 8:56 mark and Lizzy Simonin scored from inside the box at 11:56. Kacergis would cut the lead to one as she punched in a 20-yard goal unassisted in the 13th minute. Ashley Berra scored just eight minutes later to give the Tigers a two-goal cushion heading into the break.

In the second half, Taylor pulled the Golden Hurricane to within one at the 72:35 mark off a cross from Maddie Jones, but Memphis scored three minutes later for the 4-2 victory.

The Tigers had a 19-16 advantage on shots, but both teams had eight shots on goal. TU out-shot Memphis in the second half, as well as had a five corner kicks in the final 45 minutes for a 6-2 final ratio. Kendall Harclerode logged all 90 minutes in goal for the Golden Hurricane and picked up four saves.

Tulsa will return to action on Friday, Oct. 24th at Southern Miss. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. in Hattiesburg, Miss.
