Courtney Chadney scored the game-winning goal for Tulsa in 1-0 victory over Houston on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. TU moved to 4-5-2 on the season and 1-2 in Conference USA, while the Cougars fell to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the league. This was the Golden Hurricane's first win in the all-time series, with the series now tied at 1-1-2.

"It was an ugly game, but I am proud of the way we fought for the win," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "Our subs were able to come in and give us a lift in the second half for the goal, and our back line and Katie handled the pressure by Houston well."

Chadney's goal came in the 66th minute off a pass from Shelbi Steele. Chadney drilled it into an open net on the left side for her first goal of the season and fourth of her career.

Kayla Chambers, Sarah Greene and Jennifer Kacergis all led TU's attack with two shots apiece, while Katie Bykowski logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up four saves for 61 on the year and her fifth shutout.

Houston edged Tulsa in shots, 11-9, but both teams had five shots on goal.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday against Rice. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Hurricane Stadium.
