Glencoe, Illinois - The University of Tulsa men's golf team sits in 14th place after the first round at the Windon Memorial at the Skokie Country Club in Glencoe, Illinois. The second round was suspended due to darkness, but will continue tomorrow followed by the third and final round.
The nation's 19th-ranked Michigan led after the first round with a 293 score, followed by Eastern Michigan three strokes back with a 296. Kent State and 11th-ranked Illinois are tied for third with 297 scores, while Northwestern and eighth-ranked Tennessee are tied for fifth place with 299.
Senior Rob Laird posted the best first-round score for Tulsa with a 77. Sophomore Stephen Carney was one stroke back with a 78 and classmate Andre' Tourinho shot a 79. Arie Fauzi and Chris Worrell each shot an 80 in the first round.
