Tulsa Men's Golfers in Second Place at Desert Shootout

Goodyear, Arizona - Tulsa fired an opening round 13-under par 275 and is in second place at the Desert Shootout at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Arizona. The tournament will resume on Friday, with the final round on Saturday.
Host Denver holds a four-shot lead over the Golden Hurricane with a 271, while Coastal Carolina, Air Force Academy and Southern Utah are all tied for third place with 10-under par 278.
TU senior Nicolas Geyger is tied for first place with Tom Whitney of Air Force, as both golfers shot an eight-under par 64. Arie Fauzi is tied for third place with his five-under par 67, while Rob Laird and Ryan Brooks both shot an even-par 72 for 40th place. Andre' Tourinho is in 74th place with a four-over par 76.
