Tulsa Men's Golf Team Finishes Second at Desert Shootout

Goodyear, Arizona - The Tulsa men's golf team finished second at the Desert Shootout at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Arizona. The Hurricane carded a final round 274, their best of the tournament, to finish with a three-round 830 total.
Denver, the host of the tournament, claimed the team title with a three-day 829 total, one stroke ahead of TU, while Coastal Carolina (838), Kansas (840) and Kansas State (845) rounded out the top five teams.
Tulsa senior Nicolas Geyger finished in second place after shooting a 64 in today's final round for a 201 total, while freshman Arie Fauzi claimed a 12th-place finish with a 210 total. Senior Ryan Brooks was 22nd with a 212, junior Rob Laird was 24th with a 213 and Andre' Tourinho carded a 216 for 37th place.
Air Force's Tom Whitney won the individual race with a 16-under par 200.
TU will return to action tomorrow at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Arizona.
