Tulsa Golfers Place 9th at NCAA South Central Regional

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in a ninth-place tie at the NCAA South Central Regional and failed to advance to the NCAA Championships. The Hurricane carded a final round 317 and finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 936 at the par-72 Karsten Creek Golf Course.
The top-five teams advancing to the NCAA finals event, May 26-30, at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, include first-place Oklahoma State, second-place Arkansas, third-place Tennessee-Chattanooga, while TCU and Northwestern tied for fourth place. Rounding out the top-10 teams were LSU, Baylor and Wichita State while Tulsa and Denver tied for ninth place.
Tulsa's Rob Laird finished in 13th place with a 10-over par score of 226. The Tulsa junior carded a third round score of 78 today.
Senior Nicolas Geyger completed his collegiate career with a 34th place performance after turning in a score of 78 today for a 16-over par 232 for the 54-hole event. Fellow senior Ryan Brooks finished with a score of 240 for 57th place.
A pair of freshmen, Arie Fauzi and Andre' Tourinho, placed 64th and 69th , respectively for the Hurricane. Fauzi finished with a three-round total of 245, while Tourinho had a score o 253.
Tulsa finished the season with five top-5 performances on the season while finishing among the top-10 in nine of 12 tournaments.
