Junior quarterback G.J. Kinne (Football) has maintained a 3.37 grade-point average in exercise sports science. The Mesquite, Texas, native threw for a career-high 406 yards and accounted for six touchdowns in Tulsa's 56-50 victory over Southern Miss in the regular-season finale this past weekend. Kinne is a huge reason why TU has been able to finish the season on a six-game win streak. He threw for four touchdowns and rushed for two more, including the game-clinching three-yard rush late in the fourth quarter.

MEN'S BASKETBALL (4-2, 0-0 C-USA)
Participated in the 76 Classic
Lost to UNLV 80-71 (Senior guard Justin Hurtt and junior guard Scottie Haralson each scored 15 points to lead Tulsa against a disciplined Runnin' Rebel squad. Junior forward Steven Idlet added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. TU had a tough time handling the full-court press from UNLV, but the blue and gold was able to shoot 42 percent from the field and 74 percent from the free-throw line.)
Defeated Stanford 65-53 (Idlet dropped a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) and freshman guard Jordan Clarkson led all scorers with 20 points as Tulsa rebounded with a solid performance against Stanford. Hurtt added 19 points with a 7-for-7 effort from the charity stripe. Tulsa shot 40 percent from the field and 77 percent from the line, while holding Stanford to just 37 percent from the field and 21 percent from downtown.)
Defeated Cal State Northridge 80-63 (Tulsa capped off the 76 Classic with a huge win over Cal State Northridge. The Golden Hurricane received 20 points from Hurtt and 19 from Clarkson (10 of 11 from the free-throw line), and junior forward Joe Richard went 5-for-5 to add 10 points and six rebounds off the bench. Tulsa shot 50 percent form the field, 47 percent from behind the arc (8 of 17) and 75 percent from the line.)
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (2-2, 0-0 C-USA)
Lost at UTSA 87-67 (Sophomore guard Taleya Mayberry scored 23 points and knocked down all four of her three-point field goals to lead Tulsa. Freshman forward Amanda Mason recorded 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench, and junior forward Chanice Scott scored nine and grabbed seven. TU picked up 12 steals and outrebounded the Roadrunners 44-38. Tulsa also shot 81 percent from the free-throw line and 31 percent from the field.)
Defeated North Texas 83-75 (Mason knocked down 12 of 18 free throws to score 18 points to pace the Golden Hurricane in the victory over North Texas. Senior forward Kara Vaughan scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds, and freshman forward Loren McDaniel had 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Tatum Beer had 10 points, nine assists and five boards. TU outrebounded UNT 48-47 and shot 45 percent from the field. The Golden Hurricane also forced UNT into 22 turnovers.)
FOOTBALL (9-3, 6-2 C-USA) - Receiving votes in both the AP and Coaches Poll
Defeated Southern Miss 56-50 (Sophomore H-back Willie Carter had a career-high three touchdowns and junior quarterback G.J. Kinne passed for a career-high 406 yards to help lead Tulsa to its sixth-straight victory. Carter scored on a 67-yard reception, a 41-yard rush and a 12-yard reception as he picked up 145 all-purpose yards. Kinne threw for four touchdowns and rushed for two more in the career performance. Senior wide receiver Trae Johnson had 113 receiving yards. Junior linebacker Curnelius Arnick led all defensive players with 12 tackles, and sophomore defensive back Brian Moore recorded 11. The TU defense picked up three sacks, two fumble recoveries and one interception.)
VOLLEYBALL (30-2, 20-0 C-USA) Nationally ranked #22
Defeated SMU 3-1 (25-14, 25-19, 20-25, 25-14) (The Golden Hurricane wrapped up the regular season with a convincing victory over the second-best team in Conference USA. TU became the first team in conference history to finish league play with an unblemished 20-0 mark, winning the conference for the second time in four years. Sophomore outside hitter Tyler Henderson led the match with 21 kills in a match where four players hit double-digit kills and five players racked up double-digit digs. Junior outside hitter Kelsey Hancock had one of the best matches of her career as she totaled 19 kills without committing an error, finishing with a .576 hitting percentage. Sophomore outside hitter Diana Silva (16 digs, 16 kills) and sophomore setter Jordan Clampitt (60 assists, 13 digs) both recorded double-doubles. Sophomore libero Jessica Adams (19 digs), freshman outside hitter Kellie Culbertson (17 digs) and sophomore defensive specialist Shelbi Pitcher (11 digs) all recorded double-digit digs. Senior middle blocker Hannah Stout had 10 kills and two blocks, breaking the school record for career blocks. Fellow senior middle blocker Shaylin Werner picked up a start on Senior Day and recorded a block.)
