Dear Golden Hurricane Faithful,
As we close out another memorable stretch for Tulsa Athletics, I am proud to reflect on a period defined by historic achievements, championship success, and meaningful growth across our programs. From record-breaking support on Giving Day, to conference titles, national milestones, and continued momentum in key sports, the Golden Hurricane continue to demonstrate what it means to compete, lead, and represent our university at the highest level. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our fans, alumni, and community, whose energy and belief fuel everything we do. Together, we are building something special.
Conference Champions
April delivered a remarkable four-day run, as we captured two of our four American Conference championships for the year! We hosted the American Conference Men's Tennis Tournament and saw the men's team capture its first American Conference Championship. In an exciting match, Nikita Volonski delivered the clinching point, closing out a tightly contested second set to secure his match win and the title for Tulsa. He was named the American Conference Championship Most Outstanding Player.
Following the Championship, Head Coach Vince Westbrook was named the American Conference Coach of the Year and Nikita Volonski earned All-Conference honors in singles.

Three days later, we were competing on the golf course looking for another American Conference Title. The Women's Golf team was wire-to-wire winners of the event and was the second straight season the Golden Hurricane have won the golf championship. We had three golfers placed in the top ten at the event. This was the first time we have repeated as champions since 2004 and 2005. We will now turn our attention to the NCAA Waco Regional on May 11-13.
Like men's tennis, the awards followed by the Golden Hurricane after claiming the championship. Head Coach Mike Roters was named American Conference Coach of the Year for the second straight season and four players, Samantha Olson, Jenni Roller, Romaine Masserey and Allyn Stephens earned All-Conference honors.

Giving Day
We celebrated a historic milestone during the 2026 TU Giving Day, raising a record-breaking $1,580,446.37 in support of its student-athletes. The total marks the highest amount ever raised by the Athletics Department in program history and stands as the top departmental total across the University of Tulsa for this year's Giving Day.
The outpouring of support from alumni, fans, donors and the Tulsa community directly benefits more than 400 Golden Hurricane student-athletes through key initiatives, including the Golden Hurricane Champions Fund, The Case Fund, and the Loyal Always True fund.

Men's Basketball
What an exciting and historic season it was for Tulsa Men's Basketball and the Golden Hurricane. For just the second time in program history, our men's team reached the 30-win milestone, a remarkable achievement that speaks to the commitment and growth of our student-athletes and staff.
That 30-win season translated into record-breaking success, as we set eight school records and saw one of the most dramatic turnarounds in the country. Our 17-win improvement from the previous season was second in the nation and is a testament to the culture being built within our program.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Eric Konkol, this team achieved something truly unprecedented, becoming the first team in American Conference history to lead the league in field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage in the same season.
When combined with the 19 wins from our women's program, Tulsa Basketball recorded the most combined victories in school history, setting a new standard for excellence across our department.
Tulsa Football
If you missed it, our 2026 football schedule has officially been released and it's one we're incredibly excited about.
We will open the season at home against Oklahoma State, highlighting a six-game home slate at H.A. Chapman Stadium that includes four American Conference matchups. It's a schedule that will bring great competition and energy to campus all season long.

We're also pleased to share that 2026 season tickets are now on sale. As part of our ongoing commitment to our fans, we've made thoughtful adjustments to our season ticket pricing structure to ensure Tulsa Football remains accessible while we continue building a competitive program our community can be proud of.

The 2026 football season got off with a bang this offseason. Coach Lamb and his staff announced the Tulsa Portal House. The Portal House served as the central hub for all aspects of the Tulsa Football transfer portal operations. We had success as we signed 25 players for 2026 season in the portal.
The portal house was a huge success for us as it brought in 20 million impressions and over $1,000,000 earned media value across the website and our social media platforms.

Hall of Fame
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane recently announced its 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame class, a distinguished group that reflects the rich tradition and multi-generational excellence of Tulsa Athletics. This year's class features standout student-athletes and contributors from across several sports, including the 1946 football team, along with individuals who achieved All-America honors, set program records, and made lasting impacts on their respective programs. Zach Bryan
The recent concert at H.A. Chapman Stadium featuring Zach Bryan was a tremendous moment for Tulsa Athletics and for our university as a whole. Events like this continue to highlight the versatility of our facilities and our ability to deliver premier experiences that extend well beyond competition. We were proud to welcome fans from 49 different states and Canada, with more than 30 percent of attendees traveling over 60 miles to campus, a reflection of the University of Tulsa's growing reach and the appeal of hosting major events in our venues.
The impact extended far beyond a single night. Across our social media platforms, the event generated between 40 and 60 million impressions and produced an estimated $1.4 million in earned media value. From my perspective, this is a clear example of how we can leverage opportunities like this to elevate the Tulsa Athletics brand, strengthen our connection with the community, and position our department and university on a national stage.
To our fans, alumni, and supporters, thank you. Your energy, encouragement, and belief in our mission to DEVELOP our people, ENGAGE our community, and WIN championships fuel our progress.
Let's keep building something special together.
Sincerely,

Justin Moore
