She played at No. 3 singles and won both her matches in straight sets, while only dropping three total games. She teamed up with Michelle Farley to win both doubles matches 8-0.

Last Week's Results
MEN'S BASKETBALL (9-8, 2-1 C-USA)
Lost at Arizona State 69-59
(Tulsa stepped out of conference action for a tough matchup with Pac-10 foe Arizona State. The Golden Hurricane received 17 points from senior guard Justin Hurtt and 11 points each from junior forward Steven Idlet and sophomore guard Scottie Haralson. Sophomore guard Bryson Pope scored seven points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out four assists.)

Defeated UAB 78-62 (TU jumped into the thick of the conference race with a huge C-USA victory over previously unbeaten UAB. Tulsa got another 17-point effort from Hurtt, while Idlet scored 16 and Haralson added 14. Freshman forward Kodi Maduka set career highs with nine points and seven rebounds in an efficient 15 minutes. Tulsa shot a season-high 54 percent from the field and outrebounded the Blazers 37-23.)

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (5-7, 1-3 C-USA)
Lost to SMU 75-56
(Junior forward Chanice Scott led Tulsa with 15 points as the Golden Hurricane dropped a Conference USA decision to SMU. Freshman forward Loren McDaniel scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and junior forward Denise Lewis recorded six points and seven boards.)

Won at Southern Miss 74-71 (Tulsa picked up its first conference victory of the year behind the strength of double digit points from Mayberry, Scott and freshman forward Amanda Mason. Mayberry led all scorers with 19 points, and Scott was right behind with 18. The duo combined for 11 assists and nine steals. Mason grabbed nine rebounds and made seven free throws.)

MEN'S TENNIS (2-2, 0-0 C-USA) Ranked No. 35 in the nation
Defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 7-0
(Tulsa kicked off the 2011 campaign with a smooth sweep of UAPB. Junior Ashley Watling, sophomores Alastair Barnes, Grant Ive and Tristan Jackson, and freshman Japie de Klerk all easily won their singles matches in straight sets.)

Defeated Oral Roberts 7-0 (Tulsa ran through the Golden Eagles, with juniors Rusty Turpin and Patrick Collins and sophomore Clifford Marsland getting into the action with easy wins. The Golden Hurricane overwhelmed Oral Roberts in winning all nine matches in dominating fashion.)

Lost to No. 19 California 4-3 (It came down to the final match, but Tulsa was unable to upset the highly-ranked Golden Bears. Watling and Marsland teamed up to win their doubles match against the No. 13-ranked team in the nation, and the No. 2 team of Barnes and Ive rolled over the No. 17-ranked doubles team in the nation to secure the doubles point. Watling and De Klerk each won their singles matches, but the other four members of the Golden Hurricane could not boost TU over the four-point plateau to secure the victory.)

Lost to No. 5 Texas 6-1 (De Klerk moved his undefeated streak to four matches, and teamed up with sophomore Marcelo Arevalo to roll in their doubles match 8-3. The rest of the Golden Hurricane, however, could not find the secret to topping one of the best teams in the nation as TU fell at home in its second-straight match against a ranked opponent.)

WOMEN'S TENNIS (2-0, 0-0 C-USA) Ranked No. 32 in the nation
Defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 7-0
(The Golden Hurricane won every match in dominating fashion to open the 2011 campaign. Junior Ewa Szatkowska played at No. 1 singles and won 6-1, 6-2, sophomore Michelle Farley saw action at No. 2 singles and won 6-0, 6-1. Both doubles tandems dominated their matches by a combined 16-1.)

Defeated Oral Roberts 7-0 (Senior Alexandra Kichoutkin headlined TU's triumphant day over cross-town rival ORU. She competed at No. 1 and doubles and won both matches in routs. She won her singles match 6-1, 6-0 and dominated her doubles match 8-1, along with fellow senior Jo-Anne Karaitana. Farley, juniors Bonny Davidson and Caroline Beaulieu, and freshmen Maria Sant'Anna and Anamaria Candanoza all easily won their singles matches.)

(Both the men and women went 2-1 in their duals, as both teams defeated Oklahoma State and UMKC but fell to Kansas State.
