On the slow start
Three turnovers will put your defense in a bad way, and with a top-five offense in the country you can't do that and try to overcome.
On Kellen Moore
Kellen is nothing physically that stands out, he is just so accurate and doesn't miss. He sees the defenses very well. I think he is one of the best in the country no question. If there are even two more (quarterbacks) in the country better than the three we have seen I would be shocked.
On the tough early-season schedule
This is a good measuring stick. This is what top-10 football is about. Boise is a great example but so is Oklahoma State and so is Oklahoma. If that is where we want to take our program we have to be able to compete at that level.
On Boise State compared to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State
I think they are as good as any of them. I think they are the Boise that most people think nationwide. They're not going to have as impressive of guys getting off the bus but these guys know how to play. They are very well coached and don't make mistakes and they take advantage when you make mistakes and that is what good teams do.
On the recent adversity
You get caught up if you start listing all the things that this team has had to go through. It's pretty extensive, and yet in the third quarter I saw a team still pulling together and fighting and there was great leadership in that locker room.
On a possible merger between the Mountain West and Conference USA
I think it would be a great thing for all of us. The key for one of those kind of deals is that it gives us a legitimate shot at qualifying in the BCS--to have a seat at the table even if it's a bigger conference. I think that is the thing we are all looking for, is to not get left out of the dance.
