Tulsa Games Notes at East Carolina Get Acrobat Reader

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Tulsa hits the Conference USA road again to play East Carolina at noon Saturday at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

The Golden Hurricane (8-9, 1-2 C-USA) is fresh off of its first league win, a 59-48 victory over UTEP Wednesday. The Hurricane has won three of its last five games, while the Pirates (9-6, 0-2 C-USA) have been victorious in five of their last seven contests. Jordan Clarkson leads the Hurricane, which scores 65.5 points per game, with 15.0 points and 2.5 assists per contest. Scottie Haralson averages 10.7 points and makes 2.9 three-pointers per game, while Steven Idlet scores 9.7 points and grabs 5.4 rebounds per game. Tim Peete also dishes 2.2 assists per outing, while Kodi Maduka leads TU with 7.0 rebounds and adds 8.1 points and 1.7 blocks.

The Golden Hurricane ranks 22nd in the nation in rebounding margin, averaging 36.9 rebounds per game to its opponents' 30.1 rpg. The TU defense holds its foes to a .419 field goal percentage and 63.6 points per game, and ranks 32nd in the country in blocked shots, averaging 5.3 per contest. TU shoots 44 percent from the floor.

East Carolina is led by Miguel Paul, who averages 16.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. Darrius Morrow scores 13.6 points and grabs 6.1 rebounds, while Maurice Kemp leads the Pirates with 7.0 rebounds and adds 10.9 points per outing. The Pirates outscore opponents 72.9 to 62.7, and average 38.5 rebounds to their opponents' 35.4 rebounds per contest. ECU shoots 44 percent from the field, .333 from three-point range and .686 from the free throw line, and allows a .402 field goal percentage and a .278 three-point shooting percentage.

This is the 10th meeting between Tulsa and East Carolina. Tulsa leads the series, 8-1. The Golden Hurricane has won seven in a row in the series since 2007. ECU won, 59-45, in 2006 in Greenville. The Hurricane and Pirates first played in 1984, and picked up the series in 2006 when TU joined C-USA. Tulsa's eight wins have been by an average margin of 16.1 points . . . the Hurricane is 2-1 all time vs. ECU in Greenville.
