Middlebrooks Earns C-USA Hitter of the Week Award

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa's Lacey Middlebrooks was named Conference USA Hitter of the Week after she hit .700 and drove in eight runs to lead TU to a 4-0 record last week, the league office announced Monday.
Middlebrooks, a pitcher/designated player from Wake Village, Texas, was 7-for-10 at the plate with a 1.600 slugging percentage and a .786 on-base percentage, which led C-USA for the week. She totaled five extra base hits - three doubles and two home runs - scored five runs, drew four walks and struck out just once.
Wednesday against Arkansas, Middlebrooks was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk and two runs scored. Saturday against UTEP, she was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two walks and three RBI in the doubleheader. She earned the complete-game win in the opening game. Sunday, she was 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. She struck out five batters and scattered four hits in pitching 4.0 of the five-inning game to pick up the victory in the circle.
This is Middlebrooks' second career C-USA Hitter of the Week award and second this season.
