Tulsa Golfers Place 11th at Shoal Creek Invitational

Birmingham, Ala. - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in 11th place at the Graeme McDowell Shoal Creek Invitational on Tuesday. The Hurricane carded a final round 295 for an 890 total at the par-72 Shoal Creek Country Club.
Tulsa's Matt Mabrey finished in 12th place after scoring a one-under par 215 after Tuesday's two-under par score of 70. Logan McCracken placed 24th overall with a 218 total after a final round 73.
Freshman Matthew Marquez finished in 47th place with a 227 total after today's round of 75. Colton Staggs placed 56th with a 231 total, while Mark Mumford's 54-hole score of 233 tied for 62nd place.
Memphis captured the team title with a 22-under par score of 842 after today's final round of 276. Host UAB finished in second place with a 16-under par total of 848, while Florida and Mississippi tied for third place with scores of 857 and UCF tied for fifth place with an even-par score of 864.
Individually, Mississippi's Blake Morris and Memphis' Lars van Meijel tied for first place with eight-under par scores of 208.
Tulsa will be back in action at the Rod Myers Invitational, October 12-13.
