Tulsa Golfers in 12th Place at Windon Memorial

Evanston, Illinois - The Tulsa men's golf team sits in 12th place after the first day at the Windon Memorial. The Hurricane carded rounds of 294 and 301 for a 595 total at the par-72 Knollwood Club Course on Sunday.

Tulsa senior Mark Mumford shot rounds of two-over par 74 and one-under par 71 for a three-over par 145 to lead the Hurricane with a 22nd place performance. Junior Matt Mabrey is one shot behind Mumford with rounds of 74 and 72 for a 146 total and 28th place.

Senior Logan McCracken is in 46th place with a 150 total after scoring rounds today of 74 and 76. Junior Colton Staggs shot even-par 72 during his first 18 holes, but faltered in the afternoon with a 10-stroke differential of 82. Freshman Matthew Marquez turned in a score of 169 in his first two collegiate rounds of golf. Staggs is in 70th place, while Marquez is in 87th place.

Kent State leads the 16-team field with a score of seven-under par 569, while host Northwestern is three shots back with a four-under par 572. Coastal Carolina, UC Davis and Marquette are all tied for third-place with 36-hole scores of 580.

Michigan's Chris O'Neill holds a one-stroke lead over three golfers tied for second place as O'Neill carded a five-under par score of 139 with rounds of 71 and 68 on the day.

The final 18 holes will be played on Monday.
