COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. - The University of Tulsa Men's Golf finished the Intercollegiate at The Grove Tuesday and added a score or 306 to their 36-hole total of 607. Their team total of 913 secured them the 11th place finish, just narrowly behind fellow American Athletic Conference member Cincinnati, who finished with 912.

Senior Matt Mabrey had the best performance for TU at the par-72 Grove Golf Club once again on Tuesday. Mabrey carded a 77 on the day after sinking two birdies back to back on holes 18 and 1. The rest of the front nine gave the Little Rock, Ark. Native some trouble, and he would go on to add four bogeys to his total. He finished at 224, good for a share of 18th place. Mabrey's finish marks his third top-20 finish in a row.

Fellow senior Colton Staggs also finished the Intercollegiate with a total of 224 to tie for 18th place. Staggs totaled 76 on Tuesday including a birdie on par-3 hole 15. For Staggs, this top-20 finish is his third out of four tournaments this fall.

Matthew Marquez and Cody Kent finished at 233 and 235, respectively, while sophomore Francisco Yanez scored 237 through the tournament.

Ohio State carded the second best team score of any round on Tuesday at 281 to take the top spot away from Troy who had led through the first two rounds of action. Their performance on Tuesday moved them up three spaces to take home team medalist honors.

OSU's final total of 874 was helped greatly by a first place finish from Clark Engle who scored just 213 narrowly edging out the second place golfer from College of Charleston, John Jonas who fired for a score of 214.

The Intercollegiate was the final tournament for the Hurricane during the fall season of play. The Tulsa men will be back at it in February at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational.
