Tulsa to Host The American Cross Country Championships Friday

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa will play host to the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships Friday, Oct. 31 at the Mohawk Park Sports Complex.
The women's 6K race begins at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 10:50 a.m. The post-race awards ceremony will take place at approximately 11:40 a.m. The Mohawk Sports Complex is located at East 56th St. North at Highway 75.

Teams from UCF, Cincinnati, UConn, East Carolina, Houston, Memphis, USF, SMU, Temple and Tulane will compete along with Tulsa for the first two American Athletic Conference Championships of the season. This is also the first championship for TU as a member of The American.
The Golden Hurricane men's and women's teams each won cross country championships last season as a member of Conference USA. The TU men's squad, ranked No. 27 nationally in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, has won its conference championship in four straight years.
Tulsa last ran at the Pre-National Invitational meet Oct. 18 in Terre Haute, Ind. The TU men placed fifth, while the women's squad finished 15th. The Hurricane men's team is ranked second in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional rankings, while the women's squad is ranked fifth in the Midwest Region.
