Cross Country Teams Set for Midwest Regionals Friday

TULSA, Okla. - The American Athletic Conference Champion Tulsa cross country teams will run at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships Friday at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill. The women's 6K race is set to begin at noon, while the men's 10K will begin at 1 p.m.
The Golden Hurricane men are ranked No. 23 in the nation and No. 2 in the Midwest Region, while the women's squad, receiving votes in the national poll, is ranked fifth in the Midwest Region, by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The top two teams and top four individuals not on an advancing team from each region earn automatic bids to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 22 in Terre Haute, Ind. Additional teams and individuals are chosen through an at-large selection process following the regional competition.
The Midwest Region consists of Division I schools located in Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and Illinois, across 13 conferences. A total of 35 women's teams and 33 men's teams will run in the meet on Friday.
The Hurricane men's participants scheduled to run are: seniors Dennis Hodapp, Peter Hodkinson, Tim Rackers and Danny Thater, juniors Jake McDonnell and Marc Scott, sophomores Dallas Elmore, Simon Greiner and Adam Palamar, and freshmen Thomas Getty, Ben Preisner, Adam Roderique, Steven Salvano, Elijah Silva and Kirk Smith.
TU women's participants scheduled to run are: seniors Natasha Cockram and Brandi Krieg, sophomores Clara Langley, Olivia Lopez, Olivia O'Hare and Stacie Taylor, and freshmen Anna Bearss, Nicole Lee and Danielle Medearis.
The Golden Hurricane men's and women's teams both won the American Athletic Conference Championships in Tulsa on Oct. 31.
