Men's Cross Country Prepped for NCAA Championships

TU NCAA Championship Notes

TULSA, Okla. - The 20th-ranked Tulsa men's cross country team will run at the NCAA Championships Saturday at the LaVerne Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The men's 10K is set for a noon CT start.

The Golden Hurricane automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with its second-place finish at the Midwest Regional Nov. 14. This will be Tulsa's fourth straight appearance at the national championship meet, and sixth overall.

The Hurricane is led by junior Marc Scott, who won the individual title at the American Athletic Conference Championships and finished second at the Midwest Regional. Seniors Danny Thater, Tim Rackers and Dennis Hodapp, sophomore Adam Palamar and freshmen Ben Preisner and Elijah Silva all represented TU at the regional. Those seven and are on the roster for Saturday's race, along with senior Peter Hodkinson, junior Jake McDonnell, sophomores Dallas Elmore and Simon Greiner, and freshmen Thomas Getty, Adam Roderique, Steven Salvano and Kirk Smith.

This will be the third NCAA Championship race for Hodapp, Rackers, Thater and Scott. In previous NCAA Championships, Tulsa finished 27th in 2013, seventh in 2012, 25th in 2011, 13th in 2008 and 29th in 2007.

TU ran on the same course in October at the Pre-Nationals meet, where the men's team finished fifth.
