Marc Scott Wins at Chile Pepper Festival to Lead Cross Country

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior Marc Scott won the men's individual title with an 8K time of 23:30.90, lead the Tulsa men's cross country team to a second-place finish, while the TU women placed third at the Chile Pepper Festival Saturday at Agri Park.
The Golden Hurricane men scored 60 points, while Arkansas won the men's race with 24 points. The TU women totaled 113 points, trailing Arkansas (18 points) and Abilene Christian (99 points) in team scoring. Senior Rachel Baptista paced the TU women with a 5K time of 17:06.86 to finish 23rd.
Scott paced the Hurricane men, which placed all five scorers among the top-32 runners. Sophomore Ben Preisner placed 17th with a time of 24:10.08 and junior Luke Traynor finished 21st with a time of 24:17.58. Redshirt freshman Isaac Dobos placed 23rd with a time of 24:24.68, and freshman Jay Ort rounded out the scorers with a time of 24:36.13 to finish 32nd.
Junior Clara Langley followed Baptista with a 25th-place time of 17:11.91, and junior Stacie Taylor placed 35th with a time of 17:24.14. Sophomore Nicole Lee placed 39th with a time of 17:30.47, and redshirt freshman Alyssa Bolliger completed the TU scorers with a 48th-place time of 17:37.68
The Golden Hurricane returns to action Oct. 16 at the Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisc.
