The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to 24th-ranked USF on Thursday night at Corbett Stadium in Tampa, Fla. TU fell to 11-2-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Bulls moved to 11-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the league.

"I thought we played really well tonight," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said.  "I was really proud of our energy and focus, and the fact that we are competing with top-25 teams really shows where our program is and how far we've come.  The fight and desire the girls showed tonight and the quality of chances we took was great, but we just couldn't get one to go.  The only difference was they put one chance away and we didn't.  Even after their goal the girls showed a lot of heart in trying to get the equalizer.  We have to learn from tonight and put it behind us to get ready for UCF on Sunday."

The Golden Hurricane and USF battled for 71 minutes before Trudi Carter put the Bulls on the board at the 71:38 mark off an assist from Grace Adams.

Tana Dake and Kajal Parmar both had a team-best three shots, while Rachel Thun added two attempts and Sierra Krenik had one shot for TU.  Courtney McKeon logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up seven saves.

"Courtney was really good tonight," Cussen said.  "In the first 10 minutes they came out on fire and she made one really tremendous save.  It is so nice to have to starting goalkeepers in Courtney and Rebecca [McKeon]."

USF had a 22-9 lead in shots, including an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal, and a 3-2 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action against UCF on Sunday, October 11.  Game time is set for 12 noon Central in Orlando, Fla.  Watch the live stream on the American Digital Network for free HERE
