Men's Basketball Plays Host to Rogers State Tuesday

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa men's basketball team will hold its final tune-up for the 2015-16 season Tuesday when it plays host to Rogers State at 7 p.m. in an exhibition game at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Tuesday's game will be broadcast on Big Country 99.5 FM and the Hurricane Radio Network. Live stats will be available at www.TulsaHurricane.com.

In its first exhibition game, the Golden Hurricane defeated Haskell Indian Nations University, 87-62, on Saturday. Senior guard James Woodard led TU with 20 points and nine rebounds, and added three assists. Freshman guard Sterling Taplin tallied 12 points and three assists, and senior center Emmanuel Ezechinonso and junior guard Pat Birt each scored 10 points. Birt also put up nine rebounds, and seniors Rashad Smith and Brandon Swannegan scored nine and eight points, respectively.

This will be the first meeting in men's basketball between Tulsa and Rogers State. The Hillcats have dropped two exhibition games this season, 82-74 at Oral Roberts, and 80-69 at New Mexico.

Season tickets for the 17-game home schedule are on sale. Tickets start as low as $210. Season tickets or seven-game mini plan packages can be purchased by visiting the TU Athletics Ticket Office in the Donald W. Reynolds Center, or by calling 918-631-GoTU (4688).

The Golden Hurricane opens the season Saturday at 4 p.m. against Central Arkansas at the Reynolds Center.
