Tulsa women's soccer players Valiree Morris and Rebecca Defer were named the American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, as announced today by the league office.

The duo helped TU pick up wins over Cincinnati (2-0) and East Carolina (2-1) at home last week.

Morris, a freshman from Wylie, Texas, scored her first three collegiate goals this week, including two game winners.  She scored with just 8:52 off the clock against the Bearcats, and had two shots in 57 minutes on the field; and then scored in the 19th and 75th minutes against the Pirates, while recording three shots, all of which were on goal, in 43 minutes of action.

A junior from British Columbia, Canada, Defer logged all 180 minutes between the posts this past weekend.  She recorded six saves and her first shutout on the season against the Bearcats and followed up that performance with nine saves against the Pirates.  She had a 93.7 saves percentage and a 0.5 goals-against average on the week.
