Tulsa Women’s Soccer Hosts Cincinnati and East Carolina This Week

The Tulsa women's soccer team returns home after an 18-day hiatus to host Cincinnati and East Carolina.  The TU-Cincinnati game is set for Thursday, October 6 at 7:00 pm, while the TU-ECU game will be played on Sunday, October 9 beginning at 1:00 pm.  Both games will be played at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.   The Tulsa-East Carolina match is the 'Pink' game, so wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
 
Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688. 
 
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on TulsaHurricane.com/watch.  There is a 24HR Pass, a Monthly Pass and Yearly Pass that allow you to watch all TU home men's and women's soccer, volleyball and softball games depending on the package purchased.
 
The Golden Hurricane has a 5-6-1 overall record, including a 1-1 mark in American Athletic Conference action.  Rachel Thun has a team-best eight goals and six assists for 22 points.  Anna Williams adds three scores, while Tana Dake, McKenzi McAdams, Christina Holmes, Annabeth Fouts and Reagan Whitlow all have two goals.  Dake also has five assists on the season.  Rebecca Defer and Courtney McKeon have split time in goal, while combining for 70 saves and one shutout on the season.
 
Cincinnati has an 8-2-1 overall record, including a 1-0 mark in The American, and are on a six-match unbeaten streak.  The Bearcats are led by Julie Gavorski with five goals, while Katy Couperus and Vanessa Gilles both have two scores.  Natalie Smith and Claudia Eustaquio have combined in goal for 51 saves and five clean sheets.
 
East Carolina enters the weekend with a 4-6 mark and an 0-1 record in The American, but will face Memphis on Thursday.  The Pirates are led y Lana Spitler with six goals, while Courtney Cash adds four scores and three assists.  Caroline Jeffers has played every minute in goal, picked up 34 saves and has two shutouts.
