Tulsa Men Golfers in 15th Place After Two Rounds at Desert Shootout

After two rounds at the Desert Shootout, the Tulsa men's golf team sits in 15th place in the 20-team field following rounds of 288 and 294 on Friday for a 54-hole total of 582 at the par-72 Palm Valley Golf Club.
 
Tulsa freshman Jack Knoesel leads the Hurricane in 29th place overall after turning in rounds of 65 and 77 for a 142 total, while junior Matthew Marquez also had a sub-70 round on the day with a four-under par 68 in second round action after a first round 77. Marquez is in 54th place overall with a 145 total.
 
Sophomore Francisco Yanez had rounds of 75 and 72 for a 147 score and 70th place. Two freshmen round out the Tulsa roster as true frosh Preston Crawford had a 149 total following rounds of 72 and 77 for 83rd place, and red-shirt freshman Sam Humphreys is in 111th place after rounds of 76 and 79 for a score of 155.
 
Iowa State leads the race for the team title with a 25-under par score of 551, and the Cyclones' Denzel Ieremia sits in first place individually with an 11-under par score of 133.
 
Final round action takes place on Saturday.
