Tulsa Men Golfers in 11th Place at The Maxwell

The Tulsa men's golf team sits in 11th place after two rounds at The Maxwell Tournament. The Hurricane turned in an opening round of 303 and shot 15 strokes better, 288, in the afternoon round on Saturday to finish the day with a total score of 591 at the par-70 Dornick Hills Black Course in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
 
In second round action, the Hurricane counted scores of 69, 71, 73 and 75, after scores first-round totaled of 70, 76, 78 and 79 counted.
 
Freshman Jack Knoesel turned in rounds of 70 and 75 for a 44th place total of 145, while red-shirt freshman Sam Humphreys was two strokes back with a 147 total after rounds of 76 and 71 today. Junior Matthew Marquez had the best round of the day for Tulsa with a second round 69 total to finish at 148 for the day and in 57th place.
 
Francisco Yanez finished in 65th place with a 151 total, while Marc Kepka placed 72nd with a 158 total score.
 
Texas leads the team race after rounds of 277 and 270 for a 547 total, five strokes ahead of second-place Baylor (552). Texas' Gavin Hall leads all individuals with a six-under par score of 134.
 
The final round of 18 holes will be played on Sunday.
