Tulsa Women’s Soccer Team Opens Regular Season at Jayhawk Invitational This Weekend

The Tulsa women's soccer team kicks off the 2017 campaign with a pair of games in the Kansas Invitational at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kan. TU will face Central Michigan on Friday at 4:00 pm, and then Nebraska on Sunday at 10:00 am.

The Golden Hurricane played two preseason contests prior to the season opener. Tulsa dropped a 3-1 decision to the Mexico U-20 National Team in the first warm-up contest, and then fell 1-0 to TCU in the final preseason match. Valiree Morris scored on a cross from Christina Holmes against M-U20 for the lone Golden Hurricane goal in exhibition play.

The Central Michigan Chippewas recorded a 1-0 win over Michigan State in their only preseason contest. Lexi Pelafas had a team-best six shots and a goal in the contest, as McKay Matheson picked up the assist.

Nebraska earned a 3-1 win over Colorado College in their preseason warm-up. Haley Hanson had two of the Huskers' goals, while Natalie Cooke added a score.
