SECURITY BANK RAISE THE FLAG SIGN-UP
TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa athletics department and Security Bank have partnered to encourage Tulsa-area businesses in supporting the Golden Hurricane by 'raising the flag' at their place of business.
The Security Bank Raise the Flag campaign will provide local businesses a 3x5 TU flag to be visibly displayed during the fall and spring seasons, at no cost to the business. As Tulsa athletics continues to explore ways to expand its footprint and visibility in the community, the Security Bank Raise the Flag campaign is another component of the promotional campaign #ForOurCity that TU athletics unveiled earlier this month.
"Security Bank is thrilled to be a partner with The University of Tulsa. We look forward to accompanying TU on their journey to enhance the Golden Hurricane footprint throughout the Tulsa community," said Eric M. Bohne, chief executive officer, chairman of Security Bank.
Tulsa senior running back D'Angelo Brewer, from Tulsa's Central High School, summed it up best when talking about the importance of representing his city by wearing its name on his jersey.
"I get to play with the name of the city on my jersey. I grew up here in Tulsa. It's special. I don't think people outside of this city truly appreciate Tulsa. I'm playing for Tulsa and I'm putting our city on the map," said Brewer.
Businesses in the Tulsa Metro area interested in supporting and promoting the city of Tulsa's hometown team can register their company to be a member of the Security Bank Raise the Flag Program by going online at TulsaHurricane.com and completing a brief registration form.
Businesses will receive a free TU Hurricane Flag to display at their company throughout the year and on game days. In addition, registered businesses will also receive tickets to select TU athletic events, team posters and schedule cards.
"The people and businesses are what make the city of Tulsa so remarkable. Everyone I have encountered in this city is willing to help make this community and this university a better place, and you don't find that everywhere," said Dr. Derrick Gragg, Tulsa's vice president and director of athletics.
"There are a number of businesses that are able to support our athletic program financially, and with this special Raise the Flag program, Security Bank is making it possible for all area businesses, small and large, the opportunity to help us amplify our footprint in northeastern Oklahoma by simply displaying a TU flag," said Gragg.
"Our student-athletes are very much aware that they represent this city every day that they put on their uniforms with 'TULSA' scripted across their jerseys. We hope that all businesses in the community will show their pride in Tulsa and support of our teams by raising the flag," added Gragg. "We thank Security Bank for their partnership in offering this great opportunity for all local businesses."
