Tulsa Women’s Soccer Team Hosts Houston in Conference Opener on Thursday

The Tulsa women's soccer team will begin American Athletic Conference play against Houston on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688.
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on TulsaHurricane.com/watch. There is a 24HR Pass, a Monthly Pass and Yearly Pass that allow you to watch all TU home men's and women's soccer, volleyball and softball games depending on the package purchased.
Tulsa has a 2-6-2 overall record, but are coming off a 3-2 double-overtime win at Missouri State on Sunday. The Golden Hurricane has 10 goals on the season from seven different players. Rachel Thun-Blankenship and Addyson Guthrie both have two goals on the year, while Courtney McKeon and Rebecca Defer have split time in goal for a combined 74 saves.
Houston brings a 4-3-1 mark to Tulsa, including a 3-1 win at New Mexico State in their last contest. The Cougars are led by Hannah Dauzat with five goals and 11 points, while Selena Peters adds four scores. Rachel Estopare has played nearly 700 minutes in goal for 50 saves and two clean sheets.
TU has a 5-2-3 overall lead in the series with Houston, including a 4-1 win last season.
Tulsa Head Coach Kyle Cussen picked up his 200th career win last week for a 200-152-39 mark in 19+ seasons. He is also the winningest coach in school history with 90 victories. Under Cussen, TU has tallied a 39-10-4 home mark for a 77-percent winning percentage.
