The Tulsa women's soccer team fell, 4-0, to Ole Miss in the Memphis Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tenn.  TU dropped to 1-5-1 on the season, while the Rebels moved to 6-0-1 overall.

"We left 10 student-athletes at home injured and have five more that have been injured so far this season, but every team is banged up," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said.  "We have a really good team and we have to start coming out of the gates stronger.  We played a lot better in the second half and we have to build off of that.  Every game prepares us for conference play and I refuse to let us put our heads down and use any excuses because all of our players are good players and we are here to represent our University and we're going to do a better job of that on Sunday.  We can't feel sorry for ourselves.  Ole Miss is a good team and they score goals, but we allowed them to be comfortable and we have to be better moving forward."

All four of Ole Miss' goals came in the first half.  Grace Waugh struck first for the Rebels as she scored at the 9:42 mark off a pass from Mary Kate Smith.  Channing Foster made it a 2-0 lead in the 14th minute, while CeCe Kizer recorded a score in the 27th minute.  Bella Florenzo had the final goal of the contest in the 35th minute off a pass from Molly Martin.

Alyssa Kaiser had two of TU's four shots, while Rachel Thun-Blankenship and Ashlyn Heckman each added an attempt.  Courtney McKeon logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up seven saves.

The Rebels had a 22-4 lead in shots, including an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal, and a 7-0 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, September 10 against Rice.  Game time is set for 2:00 pm in Memphis.
