Tulsa Squads Claim Victory at Missouri Southern Stampede

JOPLIN, Mo. — The University of Tulsa men's and women's cross country teams both claimed victory in their respective races at the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday morning.
Reagan Hausmann won the women's 5K run with a time of 17:26.5 and TU placed four runners in the top 10 for a team score of 33, which was 107 points better than second-place Missouri State. Joining Hausmann in the top 10 was Caitlin Klopfer (2nd; 17:33.0), Caroline Miller (5th; 17:46.6) and Alyssa Bolliger (8th; 17:49.8).
Alice Newcombe rounded out the team scoring with a 17th-place finish and time of 18:07.0, while Adrena Mazzei (24th; 18:16.1), Avery Culpepper (34th; 18:45.8) and Katie Andrews (99th; 19:33.3) also completed the course for the Hurricane.
Meanwhile, Peter Lynch placed third in the men's 8K race with a time of 24:56.2 as the Hurricane took the top spot with a team score of 59 and 18 points ahead of host Missouri Southern.
Austin Del Rosso finished 10th (25:22.4) and he was followed by Adam Breaux (13th; 25:30.8), Cameron Field (14th; 25:36.8) and Robert Tully (26th; 25:56.2) to make up the team score. TU had six other runners gain experience at the meet, led by Reed Sahadevan (30th; 26:06.2) Mark Middleton (39th; 26:23.9) and Braydon Rennie (55th; 26:47.9). Bryan Corbaz (57th; 26:50.8), Jackson Schwartz (83rd; 27:23.0) and Grey Howard (142nd; 28:19.8) also ran for the Hurricane, with Schwartz and Howard making their season debuts.
Both squads will return to the course in two weeks when they travel to Madison, Wis., for the annual Nuttycombe Invitational.
