MADISON, Wis. — The University of Tulsa men's and women's cross country teams finished 21st and 28th, respectively, against a strong field at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course.
 
Of the 34 men's teams in the race, 18 came into the event ranked by the USTFCCCA, while 15 of the 33 women's squads held a ranking. The tough competition served as a final tune-up for both teams before the American Athletic Conference Championships, which will be run Oct. 25 in New Orleans, La.
 
Redshirt sophomore Peter Lynch placed 69th to lead the Golden Hurricane men's team, which totaled with 536 team points to finish ahead of No. 30 Texas, with an 8K time of 24:15.0. Sophomore Scott Beattie finished 95th at 24:26.8, just ahead of redshirt senior Austin Del Rosso's time of 24:26.9. Juniors Cameron Field (118th, 24:36.3) and Adam Breaux (158th, 24:55.1) rounded out the scoring, while freshman Ryan Riddle finished 201st with a time of 25:36.9.
 
On the women's side, redshirt sophomore Caitlin Klopfer was the top finisher at 85th with a time of 21:05.7. She was followed by redshirt senior Alyssa Bolliger (158th, 21:46.7), redshirt sophomore Reagan Hausmann (159th, 21:48.5), freshman Carolina Miller (164th, 21:54.0), sophomore Alyssa Solberg (198th, 22:26.1) and Adrena Mazzei (201st, 22:34.8).
