Tulsa Men’s Cross-Country Team Skyrockets to No. 6 in USTFCCCA National Poll

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's cross-country team jumped 22 spots into 6th place in the most recent USTFCCCA NCAA Division I National Cross-Country Poll, it was announced today.
Tulsa sits only behind #1 Northern Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Stanford and Iowa State in this week's poll. The Hurricane women are just outside the USTFCCCA's top-30 coming in 31st place as others receiving votes (24).
The jump for the Hurricane men comes after placing 3rd in a field of 33 teams at the prestigious Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wis., last Friday. Tulsa finished ahead of 14 teams ranked above the Golden Hurricane in last week's national poll.
The Tulsa men finished behind only top-ranked Northern Arizona and No. 5 Stanford, but topped No. 6 Iowa State, No. 7 Oregon, No. 8 Portland, No. 11 Purdue, No. 12 Syracuse, No. 13 Notre Dame, No. 15 Indiana, No. 16 Virginia, No. 18 Michigan, No. 19 Wisconsin, No. 20 UCLA, No. 22 Utah State, No. 23 Princeton and No. 25 Eastern Kentucky.
Tulsa will be in action next at the American Athletic Conference Championships, on November 1, in Germantown, Tennessee.
