Tulsa women's soccer player Jazmiera Ditter has been selected to the Canadian National Team that will be playing in the Junior Women's North American and Caribbean International Handball Federation Trophy Cup in Montreal, Canada, from October 14-20.

"I am extremely honored to represent my own country," Ditter said.  "I was given the opportunity to do the same for soccer, but it didn't work out.  I said yes right away when I was invited to the national camp for handball, but when I found out I made the team I was crying in happiness.  It is honor and I'm stoked!"

Ditter, who is a freshman goalkeeper from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, will play at left wing and will represent her home country as they host the tournament.

Ditter played handball, as well as soccer, growing up and her mom, Monique, was on the Canadian National Handball Team.

Teams competing in the tournament are the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Martinique and Guadalupe.  The teams will first face each other in a round robin, and then the playoffs are set to begin on October 18.
