BATON ROUGE, La. — Tulsa dropped a pair of games on the second day of the Tiger Classic, falling 4-2 against Bucknell before an 11-0 run-rule setback against No. 11 LSU on Friday.

The Golden Hurricane (0-3) will wrap up play at the Tiger Classic against Iowa (10:30 a.m.) and Bucknell (1 p.m.) on Saturday.

Game One
Chenise Delce allowed just one earned run and struck out nine in her collegiate debut, but Bucknell scored three unearned runs in the third to register a 4-2 victory.

Delce, a freshman from Oklahoma City, yielded six hits and a walk for the Golden Hurricane while she tallied the most strikeouts in a debut for a TU freshman since Aimee Creger had 12 in 2011.

Haley Meinen and Morgan Neal led the Tulsa offense as each went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Fellow seniors Julia Hollingsworth and Tori Stafford also recorded two hits as the Hurricane out-hit the Bison (1-1), but left 10 runners on base.

Nicole Rivait led Bucknell by going 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Lauren Lichtenwalner went the distance in the circle for the victory.

Tulsa got off to a quick start in the first as Hollingsworth legged out an infield single and then scored on a double to the gap in right-center by Neal. Three batters later, Meinen ripped a two-out single to right that plated Neal for the 2-0 lead.

The Bison tagged Delce for a two-out run in the bottom of the second and then took the lead with their three unearned runs in the third.

TU had a chance to answer right away in the top of the fourth, when it loaded the bases with no outs. However, Lichtenwalner got out of the jam with three straight fly balls to hold the 4-2 lead.

The Hurricane loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the sixth, but again were unable to score. Tulsa had one last opportunity in the seventh and put the tying run on base with one out, only to see the Bison secure the win with a double-play.

Game Two
Shelbi Sunseri allowed just two hits over five shutout innings and hit two homers to lead No. 11 LSU defeated Tulsa, 11-0, on Friday night.

Julia Hollingsworth and Chenise Delce each had hits for the Golden Hurricane, while Kassidy Scott recorded three strikeouts in four innings in the circle.

For the Tigers (3-0), Amanda Sanchez went 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBIs to pace the offense. Sunseri backed her own strong performance in the circle with a pair of homers and four RBIs to pick up the victory.

LSU got on the board with three runs in the first inning, two of which were unearned. Sunseri hit a two-run homer in the third and another in the fourth as part of a six-run inning for an 11-0 lead.

Tulsa was unable to get on the board in the top of the fifth in the run-rule defeat.
