LAWRENCE, Kan. – Sophomore Samantha Pochop tossed the 22nd no-hitter in program history to lead Tulsa to a 6-0 win over Nebraska on Sunday morning in the final game of the Rock Chalk Challenge.

Pochop's no-no is the first for the Golden Hurricane (18-8) since Emily Watson blanked ECU in a five-inning game in 2017. It's the first seven-inning no-hitter for TU since Aimee Creger topped Creighton with a then-school-record 17 strikeouts on Feb. 28, 2014.

Josie Muffley paced the offense to back Pochop with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, which included a homer and double, with three RBIs and two runs scored, as Tulsa ran its winning streak to six games. Julia Hollingsworth went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Rylie Spell homered and Morgan Neal doubled and drove in a run.

The Cornhuskers (10-12) had their best scoring chance in the bottom of the first, when Rylie Unziker walked, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. But the TU defense nabbed Unziker at home and Pochop got a strikeout to end the inning.

No Nebraska player would advance past second base the rest of the game.

The Hurricane got on the scoreboard with two runs in the top of the third when Hollingsworth led a two-out rally with her third double of the season. Muffley drove her home with a single through the left side before Neal's 10th double of the campaign made it 2-0.

The lead expanded to 5-0 after a three-run fifth inning for TU, which included homers from Spell and Muffley. Spell started the frame with her first homer of the spring and Muffley drilled a two-run shot to left-center field.

Hollingsworth capped the scoring for the Hurricane with a bases-loaded walk an inning later.

Through it all, Pochop kept the Nebraska bats silent. The Huskers were able to draw two walks in the fourth, but the sophomore retired the final 10 batters that she faced to seal the 6-0 win and no-hitter.

Tulsa will return home for a 5 p.m. matchup on Wednesday, March 20 against No. 18 Oklahoma State (20-6) at the Collins Family Softball Complex.
