TULSA, Okla. – Tori Stafford's three-run homer was all the offense that Tulsa needed as the Golden Hurricane knocked off No. 21 Oklahoma State, 3-0, on Wednesday evening at Collins Family Softball Complex.

The blast backed Chenise Delce's one-hitter as the freshman improved to 7-3 on the season and extended Tulsa's winning streak to seven games. The Golden Hurricane (19-8) also picked up its 12th victory in the last 13 matchups with the Cowgirls (21-8).

A capacity crowd of 1,097 was treated to a pitcher's duel early on as Delce, who finished with seven strikeouts, and OSU hurler Samanta Clakley each carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning.

The Cowgirls had their best scoring opportunity in the third after a leadoff walk and sacrifice bunt put a runner at second with one out. Delce escaped the jam with a pop up and a strikeout to keep the game scoreless.

In the top of the fifth, Delce benefitted from a stellar defensive play to keep her no-hitter alive. With a runner on, shortstop Josie Muffley dove up the middle to stop what would have been the game's first hit. The freshman flipped to Morgan Neal covering at second for the out and Delce got another strikeout to end the inning.

In the bottom of the frame, Alexis Perry broke up Clakley's no-hit bid with a single to right field. Rylie Spell then hit a line drive to center field that got down for another single to set the stage for Stafford's three-run shot.

Stafford worked the count to 3-1 before crushing Clakley's offering over the wall in left-center for the 3-0 cushion.

Samantha Show put an end to Delce's no-hitter with a single off the wall in left to start the sixth, but she was erased on a 6-4-3 double-play. Delce then closed out her seventh win of the campaign with a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh and ended the game with back-to-back punchouts.

TU will open American Athletic Conference play against USF (22-12) with a three-game series March 22-24 in Tampa, Fla.
